The Systems Engineering – Cloud and Service Providers role is responsible for technical pre-sales functions in Cloud, Hosting and Service Provider related opportunities within their region.
Position Responsibilities include:
- Enable Cloud and SP partners on how to demo and present the Commvault products to prospects.
- Work as part of sales team to formulate account strategies and achieve technical closure including:
- Architecting creative and innovative Commvault solutions in the Cloud and Service Provider market aimed at solving business, operational and financial issues.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Hosting, Cloud and MSP environments providing on-site and remote pre-sales support during sales campaigns.
- Assist with Business Case and Service Catalog Assessments to assist in gaining mind share and technical selection in sales campaigns.
- Propose and demonstrate the Commvault Cloud and Service Provider capabilities through the use of demonstrations, white board, presentations, etc.
- Help create and present the business case, surrounded by merits, of a Commvault solution to C-level executives.
- Architect creative and innovative Commvault solutions aimed at solving business, operational and financial issues.
- Create Proof of Concept scope documentation including Test Plans and Acceptance Criteria.
- Develop strong customer relationships ensuring that technical account management best practices are being followed by the systems engineering team.
- Perform discovery while engaging with the customer to understand key technical, financial, operational and business issues that can be mitigated or alleviated with the CommVault suite. Distill the discovery into a concise message, outlining the salient technical, business, operational and financial inefficiencies/challenges that the Commvault suite addresses.
- Provide product and solution guidance back into the Product Management team based upon experiences and customer feedback.
- Present on behalf of Commvault at local Cloud and Service Provider Events, provide “Expert” logistical support to the Marketing and PR team.
Position Requirements include:
- Extensive exposure to the business and technical requirements of Cloud or Service Providers.
- BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years in working with Cloud or Hosting environments, either in a vendor role or in a large Cloud or Service Provider environment. 2+ years in an Architect or similar role.
- Experience in multi-tenant SaaS or IaaS service operations.
- Experience with self-service portals, orchestration systems (purpose built or off the shelf), billing systems and authentication methodologies in a Cloud or Service Provider environment. Have a solid understanding of the purpose of these systems and why/how they facilitate the delivery of cloud services to customers.
- Product / Service development experience or experience with Service Catalogs.
- Experience or participation in a project involving development of a custom application (web based or other).
- Superb project planning and time management skills required.
- Proven presentation and communication skills.
