Role & responsibilities

Provide technical support to China sales staff in advocating Cavium products to customers during the design-win cycle. This includes customer visits, creation and/or presentation of technical material in customer meetings, creation and/or demonstration and benchmarking of Cavium products, and providing technical training to local Cavium sales staff.

Provide direct technical support to customer engineers in the Asia/Pacific Region, especially China, during integration of Cavium products into their systems. This includes installation, test, and benchmarking of Cavium reference software and software development kits, configuration and use of application software and assistance in development of customer hardware, test software, device drivers, API's, and application software, and review of customer schematics.

Provide critical review of Cavium’s technical documents, specifications, manuals, app notes, white papers, product briefs, etc.

Requirements (experience and expertise areas)

3+ years of work experience in the field of 32b and 64b microprocessors & integrated SoCs (Preferably MIPS, ARM, or PowerPC)
Previous experience in either a software design experience or technical support / FAE role is preferred
Knowledge or experience in:
O Computer architectures.
O Networking and telecom protocols & environments
o Network security (IPSec/SSL) and/or Layer 2-7 applications
o C programming, troubleshooting, performance analysis in embedded systems environment
o OS internals, binutils and C libraries in Linux, UNIX, xBSD, VxWorks, or similar operating system
o GNU tool chain, gcc, gdb
o Device Driver/API development
o Networking protocols, software, systems, and equipment
o Common microprocessor architectures and assembly language programming
o Writing app notes, technical papers, technical specifications
Familiarity with:
o Common system hardware interfaces (XAUI, SGMII, PCI-X, PCI-Express, SRIO, SPI4.2, DDR2/DDR3 SDRAM)
o EJTAG Debugger tools and IDEs
o Datasheets and electrical / mechanical parameters

Willingness to collaborate with global team members in various time zones

Requirements (Educational)
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering
