Job Description
Key responsibilities include the identification and resolution of hardware and software technical problems/malfunctions.
These responsibilities require 24x7 coverage and response to systems alerts during "on-call" periods. In addition, this position will serve as primary escalation point of contact for resolution of data center service problems / issues.
On a daily basis, the role will monitor and respond to systems failures as well as manage scheduled systems processes.
Systems analysis will be performed to proactively predict and detect systems errors in order to ensure maximum uptime and service quality.
You will work closely with other IT groups to in the areas of throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning, with the potential to affect the successful execution of business transactions.
Requirement:
Experience with highly available solutions / architectures.
Candidate MUST have experience working in a structured change management processes for highly available Web facing environment.
Previous experience Managing e-commerce related sites, and/or On- demand services.
Experience building and configuring major Internet host/network services including but not limited to: Web (http, SSL, etc.), Mail (Sendmail, etc.), DNS, NFS, NIS/NIS+, Databases (Oracle, etc.) and Java.
Some Networking Experience - TCP/IP, Load Balancing.
Perl and/or Shell scripting.
J2EE/Jboss experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team development.
Ability to perform needs assessment and handle technical objections. Desired Skills:
Strong experience working in high-volume, terabyte-sized OLTP environment.
Experience with the administration of networking hardware (Cisco, Foundry, etc.) and/or Network Systems monitoring.
