Job Summary


  

The Senior Solutions Engineer Oracle DBA is a member of the Global Solutions Centre’s staff (based in Shanghai) who works with a cross functional team in order to  design, build, validate, and document repeatable, proven solutions for the field sales organization, partners and customers. In addition, the Senior Solutions Engineer also designs and performs pre-sales proof-of-concept tests, speaks at customer seminars / engagements, and presents product/solution demonstrations



Principal Duties and Responsibilities


  
  

The Database Administrator will have responsibility to manage the build and develop complex OLTP and Data warehouse Oracle RAC environments. The DBA should have extensive experience working with Oracle databases versions. The DBA must also be familiar with backup and recovery along with disaster recovery concepts. Due to the nature of the projects involved there will also be a large amount of testing and performance tuning of the cluster, database and backup layers.
  


  
  

Skills


  
  

·         Extensive experience in installing, upgrading Oracle database versions in a RAC environment  

·         Expert knowledge of the Oracle architecture and network components

·         Expert knowledge of Oracle database management techniques and Grid Control Management

·         Expert knowledge of Monitoring and managing database memory structures, performance management, Oracle 10g automatic performance management features.

·         Expert knowledge of Oracle Internals, Oracle data dictionary and Oracle Advanced Replication.

·         Expert knowledge of Oracle 11g and VMware would be beneficial

·         Patching and Maintenance of Oracle 10g RAC Environments

·         Solid understanding, experience and troubleshooting of complex Oracle RAC Infrastructures.

·         Good experience with cloning Oracle database environments.

·         Good knowledge of Oracle 10g ASM (Automatic Storage Management)

·         Good knowledge of Oracle 10g Flashback Recovery

·         Good experience with RMAN (Catalog) installation interfaced with tape/disk storage (preferably with EMC NetWorker Management software).

·         Good experience and in-depth understanding of Oracle backup and recovery methodologies and first hand implementation experience of backup/recovery solutions.

·         Unix Shell/Perl scripting is a plus.

·         Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

·         Working knowledge of UNIX

·         Knowledge of SAN/Storage infrastructure would be beneficial

   Bachelors (Tech) or equivalent



Experience Required:
   4-6 Years
