Responsibilities:
- Write test plans for assigned features
- Design, develop, and execute automated tests
- Perform manual and automated testing
- File bug reports
- Work with development team to replicate defects, prioritize bugs, and develop robust tests
Requirements:
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent with 3+ yrs of relevant QA experience
- Excellent analytical, trouble shooting and problem solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as work in a team
- Ability to interact with cross functional teams
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and work in a dynamic environment is essential
- In depth understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems / networking
- Broad technical knowledge including:

User level applications
Basic systems administration (OS installation & configuration of Windows and Linux)
- Working experience in the software development lifecycle
- Proficiency in one or more of the following languages:

Rational Robot
- Familiarity with any hardware architectures, preferably x86, would be a plus

Job Description:
The Desktop Business Unit at VMware is looking for an experienced Software R&D Manager to lead a new team in VMware’s Beijing R&D center. This team will be part of the Server Hosted Group within the Desktop Business Unit at VMware. The new team, called the Client Proliferation Team, will have responsibility for porting VMware View Client to new platforms and devices. Porting targets will include operating systems for thin client and other small form-factor devices. Much of the work will be done in close collaboration with other VMware teams and strategic partners. This is an open-ended opportunity which will require excellent communication skills (including strong English skills), a demonstrated ability to lead independent teams and collaborate with others, and strong project management skills.
