Senior Quality Engineer - Docker container
The Red Hat Quality Engineering team is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our growing team in Beijing, China. In this role, you will join an international team of software developers and quality engineers immersed in the latest, cutting-edge technologies within the Linux domain. You'll test the entire operating system for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and develop the tools and frameworks that allow it to run smoothly. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll work with a mix of internally developed open source tools to test Project Atomic and Docker. You will use your development and coding skills to create new test automation or extend the existing test scripts and tools. We'll need you to have great leadership and organizational skills to help us bootstrap the test effort around this exciting new project. You'll also work with product management, release engineering, and the Technical Documentation team.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Lead the test effort for Project Atomic and Docker containers
Analyze source code and work with other developers to create tests
Implement test automation, automate daily tasks, and improve overall test coverage
Coordinate testing activities with other quality engineering teams
Carry out tests and report results
Escalate issues to stakeholders as needed
Participate in open source projects and communities and contribute to upstream test projects and tools
Required Skills
5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering; relevant skills or equivalent experience will also be considered
Experience leading projects and mentoring associates
Detailed understanding of what makes up a typical Linux operating system
Excellent Python coding skills
Experience with open source software development or testing is a plus
Experience administering, deploying, and provisioning Linux systems is a plus
Experienced in an Agile test methodologies is a plus
Good written and verbal English skills
Senior Quality Engineer - Kernel Storage
The Quality Engineering team at Red Hat is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to search for, analyze, report, and track defects, as well as verify bug fixes with various storage technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for developing test plans and test cases, writing scripts for automated testing, executing test cases, analyzing test results, and debugging problems. You'll also be encouraged to come up with innovative solutions to problems while working with some of the brightest engineers in the open source industry. We'll need you to be able to come up to speed quickly with new technologies and adapt to a growing and evolving team.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Provide full life cycle testing, including developing test plans and test cases
Perform manual or automatic testing
Analyze test results and identify and file bugs accordingly
Test bugs and write bug reproducers
Propose solutions
Required Skills
Passion and desire for testing and examining how things work internally
Solid skills and background working with Linux
Familiarity with storage technologies like SAN, FC, HBA, CNA, FCoE, LVM2, Device Mapper, Storage Driver, etc.
Experience in the NetApp or EMC storage array and FC or FCoE switch
Extensive experience developing test cases using Perl and shell or other similar scripting languages
Self-motivated, with an ability to take direction and work well within a team
Intermediate verbal and written English communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a distributed global team
Senior Quality Engineer - Kernel Networking
The Red Hat Quality Engineering team is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join us in Beijing, China. The Quality Engineering team serves as the last checkpoint before code is released to the public. In this role, you will focus on searching, analyzing, and tracking defects and verifying bug fixes for the Linux kernel. You'll also identify testing gaps, improve kernel network function testing, and develop test cases.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Identify testing gaps and develop cases to cover them for kernel network
Improve overall kernel network function testing
Analyze and test kernel network bugs
Develop test cases for kernel network patches to prevent regression bugs
Required Skills
3+ years of network-related work experience
Advanced skills in Linux
Ability to find and test software defects
Proficient knowledge in at least 2 areas in NIC drivers; IPv6, IGMP, SCTP, IPsec, TCP, Virtual LAN, bridge
Diligent and self-motivated, with good creative problem solving skills
Ability to collaborate well with others
Adequate knowledge in kernel implementation |
